I don't normally do posts about this sort of thing, but this time I feel I've got to say something.
This morning in London we have had two failed car bombs and now this evening we have an attack of Glasgow Airport. Thankfully it seems the only people hurt where the attackers them selves. And I'm sorry, I shouldn't feel this way, but I can't help it. It is good that the attackers have been badly burnt. Maybe this will serve as a painful reminder though out their long lives of the stupidity and futility of there actions today. If nothing else happens justice will have been served.
Has, in the history of Mankind, this sort of terrorism ever achieved anything apart from destroying lives. No, not once.
Do terrorists really believe that killing innocents is really going to force there country to be recognised, or force out the religion that which worships your god in a slightly different way, or even convert the whole world to your system of belief? Do they really?
I can't answer that, but if they do they must be really, really stupid. All they need to do is look at history to see what they actions will achieve. All that happens is that the innocents get hardened by atrocity after atrocity and then they turn against the attackers and start to attack them, killing more innocents.
All terrorism does is generate more terrorism. They must see this and know it, so if they know that, then the only reason for terrorism is to satisfy there own evil.
At the end of the day, the actions of these evil men today will have not have the effect they want on the country. I know this because I'm not stupid and can look back at history. We survived as a country, Hitler's mass bombing of our major city's and still came back and defeated him. Now do these terrorists seriously think that they can mount a campaign of terror on that scale? No they can't. And even if they could, they still won't win.
In the end there are more of us than there are of them and superior numbers almost always win!
