Trying to get things done

Okay, I admit it, I've probably been reading to much
43 folders but I've
finally deiced to try some of the ideas I've
been reading about.
Yes I think I'm being converted to the Getting things
done system. It's not that I have a particularly busy
life style, in fact the opposite is true but I would
like to do more with my life and get things a bit
better organised.
So yes GTD, I'm trying it. Why well partly because all of these things I keep on hearing and reading about seem pretty cool, also I think it might be useful for capturing those ideas I have and maybe turn them in stories, which some day might make me a living. But I think mostly the reason is it gives me chance to play around with some new software!
I've been following the development of OmniFocus closely, I love and use OmniOutliner a lot at work, but the software is not out yet and I'm not on the beta program. So I looked at the other GTD type apps out there and finally settled on iGTD. It's donationware, so I get to play with it for a while before I decide if I use it and hence pay for it. It's got a nice tutorial and most of all it seems to have lots of little things and widgets I can spend hours playing with while not actually doing anything. Ooops did I just say that out aloud! Okay yes I admit that I do frequently pay with software when I should be using it. But at least I realise it and I'm trying to stop!
Maybe iGTD will help here. I'm still finding me feet and with the whole concept so maybe it will work and maybe it wont, but you can be sure I'll let you know what happens on this blog!
