Some things you might have missed

Some of the pop and not pop culture references I've inserted in to the story.
At the beginning of all this I mentioned that I was going to add pop culture references in to the story, have you spotted any. Well here's a list of some of them, I've not listed them all simply because I can't remember a lot of stuff I wrote 40k words and 24 days ago!
Anyway here are some of them.

The start to the Barry and Susan story is very much inspired by the
rocky horror picture show, in fact the names of the characters come from the names of the actors that played Bard and Janet (I didn't want to make things to easy!)
The name of Lrr's home world from Futrurama is mentioned (Omicron Persei 8)
I also name check Ceti Alpha 5, the world where captain Kirk maroned Khan in the star trek episode 'space seed'
The metallic rodent seen is a reference to Harry Harrisons
stainless steel rat books
We also seem to have some sort of an Orangutan working in the library, maybe as a librarian. This is a reference to the librarian character from Terry Paratchet
Discworld books.
Mikes less than reputable one man (and one aardvark) star lines name (Fly by Night) comes from Jack Daltons airline of the same name from the TV series
Macgyver. I also mention the series name as something which Mike was once called. This is something that has actually happened to me, after about the 20th time my swiss army knife came in handy at work.
One of the sets of gates that Franecsa passes through are described very much like a certain gate used in the TV series Stargate SG-1.
The gate used on the plane of stones is based on the gaurdian of forever from the classic star trek episode city on the edge of forever.
This is an obscure one, the house on allen road (the house of many doors) is based on the house, the Doctor uses when on earth in the New adventures of Doctor Who novels. The desciption of the bath room suggests that the events here happen very shortly after the events in the book Cats cradle: Warhead.
Abaddons name, his actions and description are clearly come from the Abaddon the despoiler character in games workshops warhammer 40k war game.
The library is based on the the library from the short story '
the library of bable' byJorge Luis Borges. By the way I release I've got the geometry of the library all wrong. The events I describe happening in the library just wont work with only 2 exits per room! But it's to late to fix that now.
Err thats all I can remember at the moment. I'm sure there are some I missed.
