Well I got down to it and turned out 2129 words today.
It was hard getting going as I mentioned this morning. Particularly since I don't really know how to write a screen play.
Okay yes I know the mechinics of it, sluglines, character and action lines. But this is not the same as knowing how to write a screen play any more than knowing how to type doesn't mean you can write a story.
So I'm feeling my way through it. I know I can come up a story so, I've got that bit nailed. But how to get that in to a screen play.
It is very strange, writing this way. The text ends up not being very dense. Todays 2129 words for instance fill 10 pages! In a normal story, this would be maybe 4 or 5 pages.
I think I'm beginning to get the hang of it, but of course the finished script is going to very rough, but no script is ever great in the first draft. Which reminds me I've got to get around to re-writing last years Nanowrimo story...
