robo sex?

Once You Go Bot, You Never Go Back [Futurism]:" Stephen Colbert chats with David Levy, author of a new futurist-sexology-robotics book called Love and Sex with Robots, in this strange clip. The best part is Levy's laconic delivery, as he ponderously explains that people will have sex with robots "within five years" and fall in love with them "within the next 40 to 50 years." And Colbert actually raises an interesting ethical question: is it "forcing sex" if you program your loverbot to want to have sex with you whenever you want it?"

Okay, I know I shouldn't say this, but I can't help my self, I was there first!
Yes I covered the whole notion of robo sex, probably 10 years ago with my story alone. Okay I have to say that I didn't do the story because I thought it was a social issue that needs airing, no it was just...well something I wanted to write Happy That probably tells you a lot about the sort of person I was then and what I was feeling, but moving swiftly on.
So sex with robots in 5 years? Mmm, well I'd say that some err...odd people are probably doing it now. Okay you can't really call rubber dolls robots but this tells me that when we start to get real robots in the home (and I think that will be just over the horizon in oh about 10 years, but then it's always in 10 years time it seems) I'm sure some types will do this. I think it will be a lot longer before we see human like robots that are 'fully functional and programed in multiple techniques'. And as for getting to the point where the ethical question of programing a robot to have sex and the whole question of rape, well it's going to be a long time before that's ever an issue.
Anyway thats quite enough of that sort of thing for today.
