Wow 3 posts in 1 day, something must be important!
Yes it is. I've just looked at the latest stats for my web site.
Yes it is. I've just looked at the latest stats for my web site.
Last time blogged about my stats, here, things didn't
look to great for my web site. I was getting
more search spiders visiting my site than actual
people. While this means the site was well
indexed, it also meant that I wasn't getting
many visitors.
Boy has that changed! This month, which is obviously still not over, of the top 30 visitors, only 4 of them appear to search spiders. That is 4 of the IP addresses have names which identify as coming from one of the search engines. There are 4 others which just appear as IP addresses, so they could be from search engines, but I think that unlikely as I'm sure a search engine would identify it's self. All the rest appear to IP's of ADSL lines.
It looks like I've got quite a following in blueyonder's customer base, with 5 addresses coming from their network (okay 1 of those addresses is mine and another is a friends). 3 vistors from comcast's network and a few from universites (Manchester and York).
Looking at the agent strings given by my visitors most are sadly using IE 7 and in fact I don't see any Firefox users in the top 15 at all, but I do see the Safari is in there at number 10, so I do have quite a few mac visitors.
Checking back through previous months it does seem that this trend of more actual visitors has been going on for a few months now.
On the site side I'm please to say that I've now got 20 megs of stuff on the site and that since I've started blogging regularly (last October) I've on average made 1 entry every 2.4 days! Wow I didn't think it would be that frequent!
On a related side note, looking at my records this domain is 7 1/2 years old. There has been a web site on this domain for probably 7 of those years.
Well thats about it for this entry.
