Life with out my MacBook pro

Shock, horror, I've gone and done what!
I have done it! I’ve sold my MacBook pro.
Now don’t worry, this doesn't mean I’ve gone over to the ‘dark side’ and started using a PC regularly again. No I still have my Dual G5. It’s this machine that actually made me realise I wasn’t using my laptop much any more. It would get fired up about once a day, for my email check while I was cooking dinner and that was about it.
A battery change was now lasting 3 or 4 days, where as before the G5 the battery would get cycled once a day (twice or more on weekend days).
The problem that I was finding was that I was using the laptop on the sofa a lot. This wasn’t good, because it seemed like I was a home (well I was!) And that’s not a very productive place to be. Where as if I sit a my desk it seems much more work like and I’m far less likely to get distracted. This is purely in the mind, since my sofa and desk are about 3 inches away from each other at the most, but it dose work!
I first noticed this while doing last years NaNoWriMo story. With my laptop on my desk, I turned out 51000 words in 29 days, more than I’ve ever done before (or, unfortunately since!)
So what do I do when I’m out and about? I hear you ask. Well the truth there is that I’m very rarely out and about and if I am and very internet access there is always google docs, scribing down ideas.
So the laptop, while being very, very nice, was just a waste of space (okay not that much space) and worth a fair bit of money! Hence I’m now one MacBook pro down, but a large amount of money up!
