The last post

This is going to be the final post on this blog...
Yes, this particular blog is now over. You might have noticed that posts to it have been declining over the last few months so it has been a long slow end but...
...This is not the end for this site or indeed my blogging. It’s all part of the grand plan which I outlined here. The plan has changed a little bit since then, but the overall aim is the same. I’m going to a web based CMS for this site.
It’s been good using Rapidwaver as my local CMS for the past, x number of years (I have no idea how many!) but now is the time to go all Web 2.0 and manage the site on the web it’s self.
As of today, I’ve moved all my old posts over to my new blog, at hyperlands.co.uk, all new posts after this one will appear there (and on a secret new test site as well). This post won’t be copied across (it wouldn’t make sense to do that!)
As for the content on this site, it is now highly unlikely that it will see any updates, but when the new slimed down hyperlands is ready, there will be an archive section which will hold all of version 5 of Hyperlands (and maybe even earlier versions too!)
Many areas of this site have not seen updates in years, some have not been updated since the days of version 3! The redesign is a good time to make some cuts. So it’s time to admit I’m not going to update these pages again and put them in the archives. It’s time to say good bye to the Digital Ant Hill, The Lightpath Gallery, Code and Coding and the Misc sections. The pages of this site that will make it in to the new site are the blog, my stories and scripts and the photo galleries.
These changes will take a few months and the aim is to get the new site fully up and running by the time I start this years Nanowrimo. The domain name will, however, stay live and when the time comes it will be redirected to the secret new test site!
This is the end, but for every end there is new beginning.
