It's done (for the moment any way)

I can finally call NaNoWriMo 2007 done and
dusted...for a while any way.
Yep, my long task of getting last years NaNoWriMo
story up to this web site is finally done.
I took just over a month of spell checking and re-formating, but it's now there in both html for online reading and pdf for download.
Next year, oh that would be this year, I will definitely be spell checking and uploading the pages on the day I do them. Doing the whole thing in one big chunk is just to much work! When I say spell checked I mean it's been for two passes through the spell checker on the mac, there are no doubt still lots of spelling errors lurking that I've skipped over and forgotten about, and of course since I don't have Leopard (yet!) it hasn't been grammar checked at all. Not that I really trust grammar checkers yet, I've only ever used Words and normally I switch it off after a few minutes.
Now I've got that out of the way, I'm starting work on re-writing my 2006 story, The Route. I'm still not really sure how to go about this, but the method I'm trying at the moment is print the whole thing put and follow on paper, while my mac reads the story to me. I can then make notes on the printed page as I go along.
I think the first pass at this is mainly going to be to catch those pesky spelling and grammar errors. I've only done a few pages so far and I've found a lot.
In the second run through I think I'll start making the changes.
So there are going to be changes? Oh yes lots of them!
The first change is going to be the title. The Route seemed like a good working title at the start, but I now think that 'The way home' is going to be my next working title. I'm also going to add several more stories which cross over the two main story threads (Barry and Susan's journey home and Mike, Artimus, Isis and Annetts journey back to...somewhere). Also I've used the name Mike King, far to many times (it is a cool name, oh a look MK those are cool initials too :}) so I'm going to have to find a new name. Also I'm thinking of making Francesesca's journey a bigger part of the story, it might even be the largest part. She dose after all make the biggest journey of all, from bad guy to hero (well sort of).
The trouble is all of this is going to take time and I've already lined up for my self the task of do 6 major works (just to the first draft stage) this year. Two of these will be this years NaNoWriMo and Script Frenzy and another 3 are finishing stories which I've already started, and I'm not counting this rewrite in that lot!
It's going to be a busy year!
