Intersellar arks

Came across this excellent article on Slashdot last
this week. Detailed anaylis of building an interstellar ark
I've read quite a bit on the real science of building
a starship. And this article is really very
good, okay I don't understand a lot of the
maths, while I have a vague grasp of theories
involved.
The article came at a good time for me, with the short story I wrote recently being based on much longer story idea set aboard an interstellar ark, I'm thinking about the design of the ship a lot now.
In my story idea the ship would be a major part of the story and so far it's the best developed part of story. I've worked the design using a little 'sci-fi' physics, but most real world physics. I've even started to practice my drawing skills by sketching my ideas for the ship. I'm also working on modeling it POVray.
And of course there is the orginal story idea, complete with the twist in the tail are back in the front of my mind again. And I'm looking for a potential story for this years NaNoWriMo. Now there's an idea...
