I'm Joosted!

At last I've got my Joosted beta!
Yes, I've finally got my login to Joost.
This, due to the fact that all of my macs are power PC based, means that I've had to dust off and power up my old Windows PC.
After the obligatory 5 updates that had built up during the 2 or 4 months since I'd last powered up this machine, I installed Joost. As I had feared my machine was below the minimum specs, albeit in just one area, memory. Fortunately it was only just under and I was able to install and go on.
So how is it. Well not to bad, a few times the play back bit pause. I don't know if this was due to the lack of memory or my connection slowing.
The picture quality is not great, when I have it full screen, but when in a window it is as good as any of the video netcasts I subscribe to.
The range of material available is, at the moment, limited. But this is still early days and as it gets out of beta and more people get on to it, then more material will I'm sure become available.
This limited choice has given me change to catch up on such gems as Total Recall 2070 Happy Okay it's not that great, but hey I never did get to watch all 18 episodes (I only watched the first 2 episodes when it was first boardcast).
One advantage of there one being many subscribers at the moment is that the adverts which support the service are...well...limited.
In fact it looks like there is just one sponsor and they have 3 adverts. At least the commercial breaks are short!
I've not played with the interactive stuff yet.
All in all, I think that this is the beginning of true IP television. But at the moment it's a little limited. Time will tell...
