Chaos

No, I've not dropped off the world, I'm still here.
But there is just so much going on right now in my
life...it's just chaos. Blogging doesn't really get
much of a look in at the moment. Still I've got 5
minutes spare now so what's been going on...
Yes my life has been total chaos of late.
Last years NaNoWriMo was so much easier. I'd get home from work, have dinner and then sit down and regularly do about 1800 to 2000 words, no fuss no problems. This year, however could not be more different.
The first few days went well enough, apart from restarting from scratch with a new story, but after that first week end, well what can I say. It's been chaos. For a start we had major upgrades to do at work, which took up two full evenings, then we had major problems with the upgrades (thankfully all behind the scenes so no customer facing effects). The updates where rolled back and we had to pretty much re-build every thing, which took up two full days and left me feeling so down each evening I just went home and buried by self in bed and hoped the world would go away!
Then there is the regular Tuesday night get to gathering which means I lose a night a week, at least I knew this was going to happen.
Thankfully the new re-done updates are now out and working fine and I'm feeling more like working on the story.
Then I've for the first time been to one of Bristol NaNoWriMo write in's, which are great fun, but not so good for the word counts (I managed only 500 while there). Also it seems that every one else's story is so much more fun/cooler than my own.
Some interesting challenges came out of that night too, all of which I've now managed to get in to my story. An Aardvark was the first one, which was oh so easy for me. As I side note, my Aardvark (Artmius) when down a storm at the write in, there was even talk of him becoming the unofficial Bristol mascot. But two other challenges which weren't so easy to fit in where tea ninjas ! and Flamenco dancers! Both of which I'm now managed to get mentioned in the story, even if they aren't seen or used.
Also this year I've been spending so much more time in the forums.
There are other much more personal things going on which are for one reason or another getting in the way of the work, and no I'm not going to go in to these here now, or in fact ever!
The word count has very much been taking a back seat. But thankfully the weekends are rapidly becoming the workhorse of the writing week and it's only due to these that I'm on target at this point.
I've got a large back log of things to do in general, blog posts (6 of them), Christmas shopping (that's what christmas eve is for!), Bills to pay (until they cut me off it's okay (just joking, really!)) and a whole load of other stuff. It looks like December is going to be as busy as November at this rate!
Anyway the word count as stopped again, so it's time to get back to the story!
See you at the end of November, when I've got 3 days off to catch up with things!
