Big changes to my desk top, no my real physical desk
top.
It's been
a while since I've shown you a picture of my desk
top (the real desk top that is, where my keyboard and
mouse rests) so since there have been some changes I
through it was time for a new one!
Before I do this, I guess I should ask why do you care? The answer is because I care and I'm a geek and I think my target audient (I'm not hoping for more than 1!) is a geek. I spent a hour over the weekend browsing flickr, looking for images tagged with workspace, and yes it's fun looking at peoples desks. And come to think of it, I did have a domain name and the front page of web site (nothing more than that!) based around the same premiss.
Anyway on to my new set up. Heres the picture.
Big changes hay? What's changed I hear you ask.
Okay my second monitor it's got bigger! I've now got a normal 19 inch monitor and a 19 inch wide screen monitor. Have I got enough screen real estate now? Maybe it will do for the moment!
Beneath the desk on the left we have my lovely Dual 1.8 Ghz G5. On top of it we have my linksys WRT54G wireless router, which is very shortly going to have it's firmware updated to use the very much more capable DD-WRT software. Lurking behind the beige Microsoft keyboard is my home built PC (ah those where the days when I used to build PC's), which is something like a Pentium 4 2Ghz, with about gig of memory. I'm not really sure since it very rarely gets powered up. On the desk top it's self we have another Microsoft keyboard and mouse, I do like their keyboard/mice, sorry but I do. To the left, we have my TODO paper work pile, behind it some reference books, more live on the shelf above. On that same shelf we have have one of my speakers, the other one is hiding just to the right in the normal 19 incher. No they are not JBL control 1's, they are just cheep rip offs, but they still sound nice. To the left of the desk we have my shredder, I do love shredding stuff! On top of the the life table is my HP printer/scanner and of course on top of it is more pending paperwork and on top of that Arimis Aardvark, the evil half twin of Artmis Aardvark (who lives on my desk at work). Behind it, just in case things get to hot, a now non-legal halon fire extinguisher. Behind my chair we have remote control central! And of course my macbook pro charging station.
And finally in the center of the desk , the latest addition to my magery, it's a floppy lion! This one is is floppy lion the 12th (they don't have names these floppy lions) and it comes from spiritual home of all floppy lions, floppylion.co.uk. This one hasn't traveled as much as the original floppy lion, but then I've only just got him!
And finally just so I'm comfortable we have the obligatory 100 meters of cable under the desk!
That's it, you've now had a guided tour of world domination central...er I mean...oh bugger.
