I know it's a bit late in the game now, but I'm thinking of changing the title of the story. The Route is well a bit dull for a title and it doesn't really describe anything apart from the setting for the story. So I've considered lots of a different titles and in the end came with a couple which seem to fit, so the story is going to be called either 'the way back' (this is another one of those pop culture references) or 'the journey home'.
Both of these titles come from the original idea (one that I'm not entirely sure is still in the story) that the journey is more important than the destination. In the case of this story it is particularly true since the main characters are simply going end up back where they started from. They will have gone nowhere, but will be very different people by the time they get back there.
Anyway I will let you know when I've decided on the new title.
