It's been round about a year now...
My wonderful G4 power book is about a year old.
I'm not 100% sure since I can't remember when I got it, but the creation date on the file system is 14/2/2004. Since I got it some time after that (hopefully not long after), my 1 year anniversary is coming up!
And today I discovered an interesting little utility. One of my daily visited sites, macosx hints has this little bit about ioreg, a command line utility that reads various hardware settings etc. One of the things it reads is the number of battery charge-discharge-recharge cycles.
My count currently stands at 141. Mmmm, I was thinking for a year that's very low. Then I relaised that my power book was one that had the potentially overheating batteries (it did use to get very warm), so this battery is only about 4 months old (I think). Now 141 cycles in 4 months is much more like it!
I wonder how many cycles they are rated for...
